José M. Sagüillo has been selected as the first recipient of the Ivor
Grattan-Guinness Award for the History and Philosophy of Logic for his
paper, "Methodological Practice and Complementary Concepts of Logical
Consequence: Tarski's Model-Theoretic Consequence and Corcoran's
Information-Theoretic Consequence'' ( History and Philosophy of Logic
30(1) 2009; http://www.informaworld.com/thpl). Sagüillo is Catedrático
of Logic and Philosophy of Science and currently Chair of the
Department of Logic and Moral Philosophy at the University of Santiago
de Compostela in Spain. He receives a cash prize and a year's
subscription to History and Philosophy of Logic.
