STUDYING IN MANCHESTER UNDER THE SCIENCE WITHOUT BORDERS SCHEME
The University of Manchester is pleased to be participating in
the Brazilian government's Science Without Borders (SWB) scheme.
SWB is open to Brazilian undergraduate students who wish to spend
one year in the UK, and to Brazilian postgraduate students who
wish to undertake a PhD in the UK.
ELIGIBILITY
SWB is only open to Brazilian nationals who are current
undergraduate or postgraduate students at university or college
in Brazil. Candidates must be nominated by their university and
accepted onto the scheme by CAPES or CNPq before applying for a
place in the UK.
Students must fulfil the University of Manchesterâs academic
entry requirements (minimum GPA of 8.0) and English language
proficiency requirements.
UNDERGRADUATE SUBJECTS
o Electrical and Electronic Engineering (includes a three-month
industrial project on campus)
o Life Sciences (includes a three-month industrial project on
campus)
o Chemical Engineering (includes a three-month industrial
project on campus)
Participating students will take second year course units in
these subject areas and undertake a three-month industrial
project supervised on campus.
POSTGRADUATE SUBJECTS
The following Schools are participating in the SWB full-time
postgraduate scheme (PhD). Details of the research opportunities
can be found on the School websites:
o School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Sciences
o School of Computer Science
o School of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences
o School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
o School of Life Sciences
o School of Materials
o School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering
The next deadline for submisison of research proposals is
27 September 2012.
