Subject: [Proof Complexity] TALENT PhD positions at the University of
Copenhagen
To: [email protected] <[email protected]>

The Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen announces 25 PhD
openings within the TALENT programme co-funded by EU Horizon 2020, for a
range of topics that includes computer science in general, and could well
involve the theory and practice of SAT and other NP-complete problems in
particular. Please feel free to contact Jakob Nordström at [email protected] if
anything of the below sounds interesting.

The deadline for applications is October 1, 2019, and the positions are
meant to start in February-April 2020.

More detailed information can be found at:

- https://talent.ku.dk/

but briefly, the objective of the TALENT programme is to facilitate early
independence of the PhD students and fast-track their careers in academia
or industry. TALENT is a unique programme by requesting, as part of the
application procedure, the applicants to devise their own interdisciplinary
PhD project.

In EU Horizon 2020, the University of Copenhagen is number two in Europe
when it comes to attracting Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Actions, and Faculty of
Science researchers have received 30 grants from the European Research
Council. The Faculty of Science is also host to 7 Centers of Excellence
financed by the Danish National Research Foundation, and the Basic
Algorithms Research Copenhagen (BARC) center (https://barc.ku.dk) at the CS
department is a world-leading centre for fundamental algorithmic research.
The PhD School at the Faculty of Science, in which the TALENT PhD students
will be enrolled, has over 1,100 students, out of which more than half come
from outside of Denmark, originating from 75 different countries.

This is obviously fairly short notice, but, again, please feel free to
address any questions about this to me at [email protected].

Best regards,
Jakob Nordström
