What matters is the value of the lenient parameter (as it applies to the particular student and the particular resource) when a submission is graded. Any partially correct submissions to optionresponse or matchresponse submitted during a time when lenient is set to "default" (or not set) will receive an awarddetail of INCORRECT, and an awarded value of value 0 (unless bubblesheet grading). By contrast, partially correct submissions will receive an awarddetail of ASSIGNED_SCORE and an awarded value of #right/#possible, when lenient is set to "yes".
