My students have been encountering the following error when working some
questions.

----------------------------
Code ran too long. It ran for more than 10 seconds. timeout at
/home/httpd/lib/perl//Apache/run.pm line 122.

This occurred while running:

&caparesponse_check_list()

This error occurred while processing response 11 in part 0
The error occurred on host tccfll1
-----------------------------

The student sees the generic message "An internal error has occurred, please
try again later."

There is no reason the code should be running long, such as an infinite loop.
The error occurs with many different types of problems. The one common thread
is that maxima is called, either as a formula response or somewhere in a script.

Sometimes I get the same error in Authoring space. The first time an edited
question is displayed, I sometimes receive this error. I click "New
Randomization" and all is well.

Any thoughts on where to start looking to see if we can debug this? Anyone
else having similar issues?
