I have a related question. In my use of slots, I left the 'time that students can no longer reserve blank'. However, I found that if the slot 'start time' passes, students can no longer access the slot to sign up, and they also are blocked from the resource. Thus, in order to enable them to access the resource, I had to delete the association of the resource and wait for that to propogate so that they could use the resource. Fortunately, this was for a computer location for an in-class assignment so it was not an exam.
Would this be solved by setting the 'time that students can no longer reserve' to the same as the 'slot end time'? However, if there are more than a handful of students you might want to create a group, and make those students who will be assigned to the specific slot members of that group. Then you would set the "Slots of availability [Part: 0] (available)" parameter at an Enclosing Map level for the group to which they belong.
