The Nokia card definitely _isn't_ a winmodem. I have it working nicely under
FreeBSD using PPP. If I remember (and can be arsed to lug the heavy laptop),
I'll give a demo on Thursday.
But yes, it is definitely easier to use under Windows, but that's thanks to
Nokia's lovely software.
