As a vague point I was looking for a good jabber client. Tried jarl, which is perl, and gabber, which is C. jarl is perl/Tk, I think. gabber is a GNOME thing. Switched to gabber because it feels MUCH FASTER on my machine, to the point where I won't go mad using it. And this is a PIII 500. Michael
