Erm, if you restore an AI to the state it was in some time ago, why would it be any more confused than when it was first in that state ? Unless you're implying that some part of the AI's 'spirit' isn't included in the backups, but I can't see an easy way to justify that, given that its entire construct exists in electronic memory. the hatter
