Dear Faisal

I am writing with reference to your programme telecast on Eid and let me
confess before going any further that i am not any die hard kind of a fan.
But honestly i really liked the way you do the show. And its a nice change
while watching Media and political discussions. Atleast someone is thinking
positively and it will definitely effect everyone linked to that programme.
The interview with the old guy with drum was the essence of whole show
infect the moral of the story, the secret to a happy life. But unfortunately
the young miss on your show was nothing more then a naughty girl. Well she
was right but maybe she has no idea what the big picture is about our system
and culture. But thats her upbringing and education that made her think
positively. But unfortunately majority of our population has to spend more
time fulfilling their basic needs.

Anyway to cut it short the whole package was a collection of very nice
thoughts and well described theories by Dr. Fauzia with the amazing words by
that old man. But i was wondering what next? Well forgive me for my
stubbornness but i dont see any point of changing oneself and believing that
this will change the society and not criticizing your or your good faith i
dont think that painting horses or doing traffic control one day will effect
our system in long term. There are so many people doing such a great job and
if by doing positive things on individual basis could have changed society
it would have been achieved years back. but unfortunately that did not
happened. Like you did this traffic control and did an excellent job but now
what? do you think this will change the whole system????

Secondly if we start feeling bad about everything that will not help us at
all. Like start wasting my energy in correcting everyone who is breaking
traffic rules, throwing garbage out of the car or in whatever way doing the
wrong thing then i am sure i am not going to last long. and before the end
of the day i will either go mad or make people near me mad. I think if i
spend all my energies to one thing only, lets say i commit myself that from
today onwards i will make sure that i dont give charity to people begging in
streets and roads and i will try convincing people to do the same. I can
print out papers and distrubute to my friends/make banners do 1-2 minutes
talks on the main chowks asking people to not to do this anymore. I commit
myself that in 6 months or 1 year i will get everyone in my town sign an
undertaking that they wont give away charity to these professional beggars.
Well thats my contribution to my system. I will spend all my energies to
this one task only. collect like minded people who are willing to spend some
time on this task from their routine life and make sure that in 1 year i
will achieve this task. so that after exact one year i can stand up and say
i have done this once and forever in my town. Once the example is we can do
something else. Let's correct our traffic system or our mosques whatever...
but whatever we do we do with our full energies and dedication rather then
just talking about everything happening in the system.
I have all the faith that all we need is a leader and direction and Allah
has given your this ability to inspire people and make them do things like
this. You can collect them in a group give them this task. Just do it on
internet all the discussions and all the distribution material. everyone
uses their own resources and spread the word. But they do it as a group and
as a project with a deadline. Lets start with Karachi or my city Islamabad
with the motto that in one year time we will make our city bigger free, who
ever want to give charity they find people in need near them or give to
shaukat khanum/SUIIT/sahara where ever they like.....

Best Regards.

Irfan
