Steven, and Jonathan, hi. Steven, Thanks for responding so early in the morning (I didn't sleep yet, want to get this working). I am sure it is a lot to do also with the hostgator set up, e.g. needing to set
ENV['RAILS_RELATIVE_URL_ROOT']="/rails" (or http://lbl.myserver.com,etc) somewhere, which works fine for http://myserver.com/lbl for example but not so fine for http://lbl.myserver.com as I have my LBL set up on the hosted account. I got tired of trying to match my Mac OS X Snow Leopard environment with Hostgator so installed LBL straight on their server which I believe is Apache with MySQL. I also found that the .htaccess files that were on the hostgator hard drive were NOT what I had uploaded from LBL. I think they require some rewrites for their system and that is what was also breaking LBL. For now, I renamed the .htaccess file I had on the server and created a copy of the default file in LBL and it all seems to be working for now. So that was an unneeded challenge I had to deal with. Finally seem to have all images displaying AND the pages displaying. I was able to register as a user but can't get the "forgot password reminder email" message into my mailbox yet. I am sure it is just a matter of getting the right data into the right config file. Not sure if I need to enter a mail server name or credentials or if the local sendmail is used to send out such messages. >>>>> BUT --- Now The major and important challenge that still remains is that >>>>> I have only been able to rake the app if I comment out "require flickr" >>>>> otherwise rake always aborts saying flickr was not found. I even tried >>>>> typing in rflickr instead of flickr, in case it was a gem being called >>>>> and LBL uses rflickr, but no luck. <<<<< Any ideas on what the issue may be on that will be appreciated so I can avail the flickr and youtube functionality. Jonathan, sorry, I missed that reference as I had been up all night and had heard similar statements from the ISP's tech support people (who had taken 3 days, wasting my long weekend, just to figure out how to install RedCloth and hpricot they had wrongly installed previously) so didn't even think you meant it in jest. Now going on 30 hours awake (including having to wait for Cablevision tech guy to come in and swap my cable internet modem this morning after it started cutting out in the middle of my above mentioned frustrations - so hopefully you will see I am not too humor challenged in real life. :-) Regards Imran http://imran.com/media/blog/ http://twitter.com/imrananwar On Sep 9, 8:32 am, Jonathon Brenner <[email protected]> wrote: > Sorry, it was a reference to the classic meme: http://tinyurl.com/nxt595 > > I'm not sure what's going on there. > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Lovd by Less" group.
