Hi Matt,
login to your server (use ssh). Then go to the directory where you uploaded
lovd. In the root directory of your rails application (lovd) type the
following: (I assume that you use the Linux OS)
ruby script/server

That will start lovd on port 3000 (default). Now you can switch to your
browser and type the location I sent you in my previous post. I', pretty
sure that you will get an error message on the screen. (Database has to be
chosen [your part], started [your part] and migrated [rails part])

Have you ever dealt with server setup? Not rails in particular but in
general? (setting up databases, etc...)
