Hi Pedro,
what I see most people do is forking the *master on github and creating
their own version. You can track it here and see what and how people have
extended the core (lovd). I don't think that you can push your version to
the *master as I think that lovd is offering one a kind of a core system for
a social network. Some people would love to have groups, other might not.
Some might like to have i18n to be supported, but some won't. But still, you
can contribute by making your version of lovd to be open source at (say)
github.

That is just my opinion (I'm not the boss of lovd). If Steve likes what you
do he might include it. (actually I don't really got it how to "contribute"
to the *master branch. I think you have to be allowed to/accepted)
