At last count, I have over a dozen ac adapters for my toys and gadgets: two for scanners (my 3rd scanner is USB powered), one each for two printer, one for the modem, one for the USB hub, one for the speaker amp, one for the zip drive, one for the DSL modem, one for the Powerbook 520, one for my shiny new iBook, and one for charging my cell phone.
Of course, I don't use all these devices at once, so they aren't all plugged in at once. But it's not unusual to have six of these plugged in at one time, taking up 2+ powerstrips. I cannot believe that there isn't a switchable-voltage, multiple output power supply to do away with this madness, but I have search the web every which way I can think of, and have found _nada_. Has anyone on the list ever seen a product, or a project in some electronics magazine, or something, that fits this description? It seems it would be simple enough to do; it would just have to put out adequate amperage to handle the load, and have switches for changing voltages. The perfect device would also step down AC for those devices. Ideas?
