I thank Mike Seebeck, our Public Info. Dir., for
informing us about the latest fascist measure to eliminate Libertarians from the
electoral mix. An Associated Press reporter contacted me, Bill Crane's
latest Lib. opponent in HD-27, and I was able to reiterate some of Mike's
points, to wit, that Rs and Ds have no claim on the electorate & should earn
their votes on a level playing field separated from government, since parties
are not to be found in the Constitution, much less the "2-party
system."
I began the interview by
volunteering that I have not read the bill, being involved in the CO Lib.
Platform, but having read descriptions of it on our Lib chatline. I
further mentioned that Rs & Ds have great power which they are misusing
and have unconstitutionally subsidized their own conventions & the rest of
the process at taxpayer expense, whereas Libs refuse to accept ANY tax
money.
I inferred from his
questions a slant that we have it too easy & take votes from Rs, to which my
general response was "Republican spin", & that we get candidates & votes
from both Rs & Ds. After more details, interrupted by applause in the
CO Capitol Bldg. where I caught him on his cell phone, I ended with an attempt
at diplomacy: "I have nothing against them personally, but the system is
LOPSIDED, and this bill would make it MORE lopsided."
