*Linux Professional Institute features "new look" at LinuxWorld San
Francisco (August 4-7, 2008)*
(Sacramento, USA: July 16, 2008) The Linux Professional Institute
(LPI), (http://www.lpi.org), the world's premier Linux certification
organization announced a new revised presence at LinuxWorld San
Francisco (August 4 - 7, 2008) along with LPI's traditional and popular
discounted exam sessions for their Linux certification program during the
conference.
This year LPI will share an information kiosk with organizers of
LinuxWorld Expo on the registration floor of the event at the Moscone
Center. "We are pleased to be part of the initial conference delegate
"welcome" area for LinuxWorld. This enhanced visibility recognizes
LPI's leadership role amongst individual Linux professionals," said Jim
Lacey, President and CEO of LPI. LPI alumni and new candidates are
invited to visit LPI staff at the information kiosk and bring their LPI
ID to receive an LPI "Tux" (see
http://lpi.org/eng/about_lpi/upcoming_events/summer_2008_in_san_francisco
for an example of the LPI "Tux").
LPI exams during the conference will be complimentary for paid
conference attendees (a $155 value) and at a 50% discount (just $75) for
exhibit-only attendees. Complimentary exams and discounts are available
on any single exam of LPIC-1, LPIC-2 and LP1-302 (the LPIC-3 exam,
regularly priced at $200, will be available at $100).
All exam candidates must obtain an LPI ID and are asked to bring valid
photo identification and their LPI-ID number to the exam labs. Payment
for exams can be made by cash, cheque or credit card.
During LinuxWorld, exams will be in Room 236 of the Moscone Center on
Wednesday, August 6th and Thursday, August 7th at 10:00 am and 2:30 pm.
Interested candidates are asked to pre-register for the exams at
events_at_lpi.org and indicate which exam they would like to take and at
which available time slot.
Other LPI events during LinuxWorld Expo include:
- Alumni Reception: once again LPI will host a special reception for
alumni of LPI's certification program. LPI alumni are asked to contact
