According to Matt Rice at the Berlin TAC meeting in late May, exams will be
delivered according to the new objectives beginning on 1 Dec 2008. That is
for English and German; I don't know about other languages.

There may be a transition period (of a few months) during which both flavours
of exam (old and new) are available in parallel, but we have no official
commitment from LPI to that course of action, although Matt seemed to think
that this was a good idea -- mainly for the benefit of authors of training
materials such as myself, who would otherwise have to come up with revised
materials within a space of two months or so (a bit of a tall order, looking
at all the changes). This is because people looking at taking the exam in
December would probably want to start preparing around September, and
naturally expect materials covering the new objectives to be available when
they start studying.
