I see the objectives as distribution independent. I used OpenSUSE,  
Fedora and Ubuntu with mail, proxy, web and firewall services for my  
preparation. I think one can not break down the objectives to one  
distribution. To answer your question, they are neither Debian 4 nor  
Debian 5 flavoured.
