If you pass the Linux+ powered by LPI exam, how difficult is it to get the LPIC-1 certification?
Does one just send the scores, and you get something in the mail, or do you have to answer a few more q's? Here's what I got back from Linux+ Past and existing LPIC-1, LPIC-2 and LPIC-3 certificate holders, who wish to receive the "CompTIA Linux+ Powered by LPI" certification, will need to take and pass the required two exams from CompTIA through Prometric or Pearson VUE test centers. Now, and in the future, the two certifications (LPIC-1 and "CompTIA Linux+ Powered by LPI") will remain separate certifications owned by their respective organizations. This means that Linux Professional Institute (LPI) owns and administers the LPIC-1 certification; CompTIA owns and administers the "Linux+ Powered by LPI." Please note that the "CompTIA Linux+ (XK0-002)", also available through Prometric and Pearson VUE (until October 31, 2010) does not qualify the candidate to receive the "Linux+ Powered by LPI" certification or the LPIC-1 certification. Further questions on the CompTIA Linux+ Powered by LPI certification should be addressed to: [email protected] If, however, you have successfully completed the two exams for the "CompTIA Linux+ Powered by LPI" certification and wish to apply for and obtain the LPIC-1 certification please inquire of [email protected] for application details. -- ted jordan, principal [email protected] JordanTeam Learning LLC Making the World Computer Smarter http://jordanteam.com USBank Building 216 378 9035 p 24700 Chagrin Blvd Ste 201A 216 926 3905 p Cleveland, OH 44122 USA _______________________________________________ lpi-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://list.lpi.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/lpi-discuss
