As far as I know, there is no embedded "Linux" specific certification. However, there are several embedded related certification. One of them is Wind River as you can see from the following site. http://www.windriver.com/news/press/pr.html?ID=440 The other one in Japan is certification from Japan Embedded Systems Technology Association ( http://www.jasa.or.jp/top/en/index.html ). I checked Monta Vista web site. However, it seems that they do not have. Wind River certification is, I assume, vendor specific certification even though Wind River endorses Linux quite actively. FYI, at one point, Wind River Japan asked ( forced) their employees to take LPIC. Certification from Japan Embedded Systems Technology Association is vendor neutral. It is available only in Japanese. However, if you are thinking of mass distribution of embedded certification exam, I can introduce you to the association board members since I know several board members. I think they are quite happy to provide English version if the volume is large. FYI, their certification does not provide pass or fail. They give you only score just like TOEFL. I assume that skill associated with "Linux component" of embedded application can be covered by LPIC up to a certain degree. Therefore, from marketing point of view, I feel, it is not a good idea to introduce a vendor neutral Linux certification for embedded only in countries where LPIC is dominant in Linux certification. The better approach is either go vendor specific such as Wind River or OS independent generic embedded certification such as Japanese one. If you need additional information, please let me know.
