Well, I scheduled myself for the 101 and 102 tests one after another this coming wednesday! I'll try to respond with some helpful comments if possible. I've actually picked up the SAIR Linux and GNU Certification books by Tobin Magninnis. It doesn't teach specifically to the LPI benchmarks, but the books are well written. There is certainly a lot of cross-over in terms of content. I've also evaluated the Wave Technologies boxed set and found that good as well. Its amazing how much one can learn about Linux, even after having used it for 6 years :). There is a good section in the Level I: System Administration book on tuning Linux for maximum performance that I found quite nice. One thing I did find, though, is that VUE appears to be behind in creating online user ID's. I used the web form to create an ID to register for tests. After 24 hours, I still hadn't gotten my ID. When I called, the helpful staff person created one for me while I waited online. Apparently, its not an automated process, so if you are in a hurry to register, you might want to just call them.
