Folks,

We are looking at a whole bunch of different ways to generate
publicity and promotion of LPI... given that we are a nonprofit
Linux community project and not part of a larger for-profit
company, we do not necessarily have the marketing $$$ of other
cert programs.

But there's one little way that everyone on this list can help.
The next time you (or your HR department) run an advertisement
(in print, online, or wherever) for a job position that requires
Linux technical skills, consider putting a simple line like this:

  LPI certification a plus.

somewhere in the job text (and assuming it would be appropriate
for the position!). Doing this helps generate demand for the LPI
credential... which helps all around. If you do it in online
postings (either on your web site or others), then it also starts
to show up in big job sites like monster.com and dice.com.

With LPI, we may not be able to compete dollar-for-dollar with the
marketing budgets of other cert programs... but there are a lot
more of us out there... and this is one inexpensive and easy way
to help promote LPI.

Please pass this along to your HR department if you have one and
to any other lists you think are appropriate.

Thanks,
Dan
