Dear all, This thread is supposed to capture the discussion of the objectives draft for exam 201-500. The current draft for the new version is available in the LPI wiki:

Please use the history and diff features of the wiki to keep track of changes. The major change proposals can be summarized like this: - In some topics where there is not 'the one' tool which is commonly used, we removed the overage of a specific tool in the favor of a general overview of the most prominent tools. This affects 701.4, CI/CD and 075.3, Log Management. - In topic 701.2, OpenStack tools are no longer used as a reference, instead we focus on commonly used open source technologies. - Objective 701.5, Software Composition, Licensing and Open Source was added - Topic 702 was restructured to separate container management, container orchestration using docker-compose and container building. Objective 702.3 (old) is gone, no more docker-machine and no more Docker Swarm - Topic 703 (new) was added to cover Kubernetes basics - Topic 703 (old), Machine Deployment, is completely gone and has already been merged into the respective LPIC-3 exams - Topic 704 (old), Ansible, is completely gone and will be moved into LPIC-2 - Objective 705.1 (new), Cloud Native Security was added - Objective 705.1 (old), IT Operations and Monitoring was changed to 705.2 (new), Prometheus - Objective 705.2 (old), ELK Stack, was changed 705.3 (new), generic log management - Objective 705.4 (new), generic tracing, was added. There are, of course, numerous smaller changes, fixes and improvements.
