UNIX System Administration work at a Raytheon site in Arlington, Texas.
Sun, SGI, Network Appliance, and Linux systems support in a four building
campus. Also developed websites, installed mail servers, DHCP servers,
and developed applications for other UHW clients. Major part of Y2K
compliance actions. Created open source tool Lanlord to track DHCP leases.
May 1995 February 1998 Sr. Internet Analyst (Webmaster), American
Heart Association, Dallas TX
Developed from scratch initial web services of a world class Website
that was voted as one of the top 50 Internet sites by Webmaster
Magazine in 1997. Installed high speed Internet access, firewall, and
Internet services. Works with a staff of nine in maintaining the web
site. Currently managing Website for affiliated organizations
(www.isfc.org, www.iahf.org, and www.globalcardiology.org), Internet
e-mail service, Domain Name Services, monitors network and server
activity, and acts as general technical resource. Started original AHA
Intranet to support field fund raising activities and reporting.
Creation of JavaScript, Java applets and servlets, and CGI (Perl, C,
Java, and TCL) programs to support websites. Main web server has over
5,000 pages with the Netscape enterprise Server on a SGI Challenge S
and other sites are on a SGI INDY and a Linux/Intel system using
Apache.
February to May 1995 - Technical Support, Anixter, Dallas TX
Hotline support for internal sales staff on Ethernet, token ring, Wide
Area Networks, Local Area Networks with an emphasis on Simple Network
Management Protocol (SNMP). Extensive training on Bay Networks, Ascend,
and SUN networking products. Used Sun Sparc-10 for HP Openview,
Optivity, Sun Net Manager and other network management support.
December 1993 - January 1995 Network Support, General Atomics, San
Diego CA
WAN administration of a 1,500 node TCP/IP network. Established Gopher
and Intranet services. Heavy emphasis on routers and SNMP. Managed
Cisco Routers, Sun and Intel based network management stations, Mac
and PC connectivity (TCP/IP, NFS, and Novell), and managed various
pieces of network hardware such as switches, hubs, and Internet
connection. Implemented network switches and dial up PPP services.
Limited VTAM support duties. Evaluated networking software products and
provided second tier software support.
February 1993 - November 1993 Unix Administrator, HNC Software, San

UNIX Administrator for small neural network company developing mainly
on Sun Sparcs and IBM AIX systems. Established Internet connection,

Managed staff of 3-5 responsible for computer and network operations
for an electronic publishing development group. Performed UNIX,
Internet and VAX/VMS administration. Established Internet connection
and worked with other Xerox units to coordinated interoffice network
traffic. Implemented ISO OSI network protocols. Managed Sun, Xerox,
IBM and Digital servers and workstations along with supporting data
networks. Supported development and testing environments for site.
Performed extensive testing on prototype equipment and software
