We have been (slowly) working on this for the past 2 months, but now that
the Level 2 exams are well on their way on the chain belt, I like to
proceed on updating Level 1.

The first step is to review and revise the test objectives. This should
happen this month. So I am looking for volunteers to review the current
Level 1 test objectives, and suggest improvements. This will happen in 3
steps:
1) correct and improve current test objectives
2) integrate new tasks from the 2nd Job Analysis Survey
3) reorganise the test objectives if necessary

Here are job descriptions for the two functions. We would welcome
maintainers too, to distribute the work over a larger team. Note that
we need people who can commit 1..2 hours at most of the days for the next
month or so. If you like to participate, please write to me personally,
and mention your qualifications and credentials.

1. Objective maintainer.

Requirements: LPIC-1 certified. Familiar with the LPI program, has
working experience as a Linux system administrator, and knows about the
current state of Linux for several distributions.

Duties: This person is in charge of the test objectives for one or more
subject areas. (S)He should scrutinize the current objectives, review
comments made by others, write accurate and improved formulations, edit
the the on-line objectives using the POMS web interface, and report to the
director.

Compensation: Sorry, this is an unfunded volunteer position. However, you
do get great personal exposure of your name on the LPI website at the
pages of the areas that you maintain.

2. Objective reviewer.

Requirements: Sound knowledge of current Linux system administration,
preferably of multiple distributions; and be familiar with the LPI
program: preferably LPIC-1 certified.

Duties: Scrutinize the test objectives of one or more subject areas, and
submit change proposals to improve them and make them up-to date, using
the POMS web interface.

Compensation: Sorry, this is an unfunded volunteer position. However,
the time commitment can be minimal, any specific proposal to improve the
objectives and make them up-to date is helpful.

Note: An objective maintainer can also be objective reviewer of other
areas that (s)he is not maintaining.
