Hi everyone, I've written up my version of what has changed in the LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 objectives for this new version.
I've included the summary as an attachment as well as included in the e-mail body for people that would like to comment, ask for clarifications, etc. The 102 summary is coming directly after this and I'm typing the LPIC-2 objectives change summary up right now. SPECIAL NOTE: For people that have already done this comparison, xargs is still in the 103.4 (Use streams, pipes and redirects) objective. Please keep in mind that the list of files, commands and terms in each objectives is a _partial_ list. PS - I've kept and mixed US and British spellings (it seems to be the status quo to do this so I've maintained the inconsistencies ;)). Regards, matt LPIC-1 NOTE ON WEIGHTING: The weighting on all LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 exams has been normalised to 60. This means that each exam will be 60 questions long (unless you have "beta" questions for QA purposes; then it will be 75 questions). This also means that a weighting of 3 on an objective indicates that there will be exactly 3 questions on the exam pertaining to that objective (again with the "beta" question caveat). NOTE: The 1. and 2. prefixes have been dropped for this revision. Any time the a 1.xxx.y or 2.xxx.y objective is cited, it refers to the old objectives. When the original objective is not mentioned, the current objective is the same number with the prefix dropped. Exam 101 NOTE: Former 1.102.3 (Make and install programs from source) objective is now 206.1 (LPIC-2).
