Linux Professional Institute revising LPIC-1 and LPIC-304
Certification Programs to Evolve with New Linux Skills Requirements in
IT Workforce

(Sacramento, CA, USA: February 12, 2014) The Linux Professional
Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization,
announced upcoming changes to their LPIC-1 and LPIC-304 certification
programs. New objectives for these certifications are presently under
development with the input of the professional Linux community. LPI
will rollout the new exams in English starting January 1st, 2015.
Additional information on the release schedule of updated non-English
language exams and pricing is not yet available.

"At LPI, we are committed to ensuring our exams align with the skills
our certification candidates need to be competitive in today's
technology workforce. By continually investing in the relevance of our
exams, employers can be confident that LPI certified professionals
have the best skills to support their organizations," said Jim Lacey,
president and CEO of the Linux Professional Institute. He continued,
"We're fortunate to be supported in our efforts by an active
professional community that shares its valuable insights on current
workplace skills requirements and technology trends."

The Job Task Analysis for the new objectives for the LPIC-1 and
LPIC-304 exams will continue through May 31st, 2014. Beta exams with
these revised objectives will be available starting on June 1st, 2014
and will continue through September 30th, 2014. Existing versions of
the LPIC-1 and LPIC-304 exams will be available during a six-month
transition period once the new exams are released in early 2015.
