Hi Juan José Marí Morate, I've passed LPIC-1 exams recently, the book you have mentioned ( LPIC-1 from Roderick W. Smith ) is very useful and it was my main reference for studying. Now I'm studying LPIC-2 and my main reference for that is LPIC-2 from Roderick W. Smith, too. The major changes doesn't come until 2015, so my advice to you is that take the exam as soon as possible.
