I read the '[ ]' in the objectives as including '[^...]' and '[a-z]'.
We can make that explicit.

I'd like to see ^ and $ in the objectives, too.  They were in the Nice
To Know section for v1.0.  However, the bulk of the feedback from
people teaching and taking Linux Essentials was to remove coverage as
it was too overwhelming for many of the new Linux trainees.

That said, there's nothing stopping trainers from covering more than
the objectives.
