Hi everyone,

With the new year come some welcome changes at LPI. There are some
others in the works but the first one that I'd like to announce is
that Fabian Thorns will be joining LPI in the role of Certification
Development Lead.

For those of you that don't know Fabian, he's been a longstanding and
busy volunteer for LPI-CE. As well, he's been a regular Subject
Matter Expert (SME) for LPI for many years and has worked on
certification development from objective creation and review down to
the item creation and evaluation levels. This participation has been
with all of the exams from the Linux Essentials level all the way up
to LPIC-3.

Fabian's currently a holder of LPIC-300, LPIC-304 and ITIL Foundation
v3. And, made the top 15 list for the Linux Foundation’s
certification [1].

Fabian has agreed to take over most of my responsibilities in
certification development and will also be working closely with the
developers of our online tools and infrastructure to make it easier
and more efficient for us to maintain our certifications and create
new ones.

I'm hoping that everyone welcomes Fabian in his new role. I can't
think of anyone more suitable for this role and I'm proud and very
happy that he has agreed to increase his participation in and with
LPI.

Regards,
