Perhaps you have a point - its seems that LPI is is a gravitational tug
between different applications on Linux - perhaps the tracks should be
split into two directions:

1. Cloud Native. This assumes that you are building your application and
services on Linux to run on cloud services from the start--not porting or
migrating existing services. Things such as specific methods for deploying
tools/servicesfor ephemeral services--such as ELK (Elasticache, Logstash,
Kibana), ZFS usage, CEPH (large filesystems), HA Proxy for Load Balancing,
Redis deployments. Continuous Integration/Software Pipeline features and
concepts.
Focus on Linux providing Services

2. A legacy or small (10 and under) track (not to sound pejorative) There
are different ways to build and supporting systems which could focus on
things closer to Linux and not related to application monitoring... This
would deal with local features such as mysqldump, rsyslog, various local
technologies you would use on Linux.
Focus on the Linux Server.

3. Each of the above tracks would have a standard core of Linux tools,
Path, Permission, Dependencies, etc, etc, (LPI 1)

What is your opinion?

take care
