Official Statement

Official statement by the Scientific Advisory Board on the planned revision of the LPI Linux Essentials certification goals.

The members of the Scientific Advisory Board have reviewed the objectives of the LPI Linux Essentials certification. We have discussed the objectives from the different perspectives of the academic partners and believe that we do not think it is necessary to make any additional objectives or changes to the existing objectives.

Nevertheless, we have recognized a problem of the students to have a usable Linux system to practice on. One potential way to get a Linux playground are cloud instances. That's why we suggest adding aspects of using IaaS instances, especially those available for free in testing accounts at public cloud providers, to the Linux Essentials certification.
