Yes, if you're transferring 500MB files to and fro I would definitely
upgrade to 100Mbit - its cheap nowadays, and you'll see a big
performance improvement. 180Kbyte/sec is a little on the slow end for
10MBit, but not unusually so - especially if there is much other traffic
on that network.
