I have been printing on a deskjet connected to my
parallel port (on an SGI IRIX6.5 box)
for ages (upto 3.6.13)
But now 3.6.14 seems to hang, either
just at the beginning or in between.
I just get

lpq -Pdjraw
Printer: djraw@numa1 'Local Deskjet(PCL)'
 Queue: 1 printable job
 Server: pid 182351 active
 Unspooler: pid 182404 active
Status: processing 'dfA387numa1.igpm.rwth-aachen.de', size 3609, format 'f', IF
filter 'none - passthrough' at 12:01:36.426
Rank Owner/ID Class Job Files Size Time
stalled(205sec) jarausch@numa1+387 A 387 PRINTcrlf 3609 12:01:36

Here is the corresponding printcap entry

djraw
        :cm=Local Deskjet(PCL)
        :sd=/var/spool/dj_local:mx#0:sf:sh:
        :lp=/dev/plp

And that are the permission on /dev/plp
ls -l /dev/plp
lrwxr-xr-x    1 root     sys           16 Feb 12  1999 /dev/plp -> /hw/parallel/plp

ls -Ll /dev/plp
crw-rw-rw- 1 root sys 0,185 Jun 15 12:14 /dev/plp

A direct 'cp' to the port works just fine, so there's no hardware
problem.

Is that a problem with 3.6.14 or do I miss something?

Thanks for any hints
