hi,

I`m using LPRng 3.6.12 with 2 spooling hosts (solaris 2.7) and 3.000 to
4.000 clients. Is there any way to tell clients by a returned code on
the command line that they try to reach a printer that doesn`t exist ?
It often happens that people type `lpr -Ppuubps2` instead of `lpr
-Ppubps2`. In cases like that it doesn`t make sense to redirect the
output to another printer (default_printer_when_unknown) because people
will not find the output were they expect it to be and they end up by
telling me that `printing doesn`t work` ....So I would prefere to `tell`
them immediately that they have to choose an existing printer ...

Regards Christoph
