Hi,

I have a problem with vanishing logfiles and statusfiles on several Solaris 7
hosts, these files keep on being removed, and I did not manage to find out
which process does this. The only cron entry I see affecting the LPRNG spool
folders is this one:

# Clean up printing system
5 1 * * * /usr/local/sbin/checkpc -t 100K -A7 -r

It should not delete the files, but it complains a lot about the missing ones.
There are no other cron entries in any crontab that could delete the files.

A sample printcap entry:

prt2-ps1-fra
        :cm=prt2.ps1.fra.atege.net
        :lp=ps1.fra.atege.net%9101
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd/prt2-ps1-fra
        :lf=log
        :af=acct
        :mx=0
        :sh

Did anyone have similar problems or an ideawhere to investigate? The
LPRNG-versions used are 3.6.12 and 3.6.14.

best regards, Gunther
