Hi.
I have a problem with ifhp (ver. 3.3.17). I've tried all I could immagine,
but it didn't work out.
I installed ifhp (ver 3.3.17) on a debian system (2.1 upgraded to the
latest packages). A HP LJ4000 is connected to this system via a
bidirectional paralel port (proven: if i write a pjl command to /dev/lp0,
I can get the result with cat /dev/lp0). My /etc/printcap looks like this:
LaserIII|LaserJet III
:lp=/dev/lp0
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/LJ3
:ifhp=model=hp4000,of_options=status pagecount waitend
:filter=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ifhp
:of=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ifhp
:rw:ps=/tmp/print.log
:sh
When I try to print I get stuff like this in my log file:
(of) using model 'hp4000' at 22:45:47.731
(of) pagecount using 'pjl info pagecount' at 22:45:47.749
(of) setting up printer at 22:45:47.750
(of) starting OF mode passthrough at 22:45:47.752
(of) getting sync using 'pjl echo' at 22:45:47.753
(of) EOF while reading from printer port at 22:45:47.793
(of) no response from printer at 22:45:47.794
If I don't use the rw option in printcap (as you suggest) I get lines like
this:
(of) getting sync using 'pjl echo' at 23:07:28.769
(of) read from printer port for sync failed - Bad file descriptor at
23:07:28.773
What could be wrong?
Thanx,
Edi
