Whenever I have seen this sort of thing it is usually something to do
with filters receving something (flags or data) that they didn't like.
Also you may want to look at a previous thread about CPU going through
the roof when something evil happen (disk corruption perhaps) and a
binary sort of file got in and did evil things.

And yes lprng 3.6.12 didn't have that problem.
