hi all..

a time ago i developed a Linuxconf module for printer management, which
supports the classic lpr system.

now i want to make it compatible with LPRng so i downloaded and installed
the packages from the sources.

unfortunately i'm having problems making it work here.. when i try to print
a test page i get a window informing 'subprocess diagnostic for stdout/stderr'
saying 'job 'xxxxxxx.yyyyyy.zzzzz' transfer to lp@localhost failed'.

i'm using the classic printcap file (not the new printcap format from
LPRng). i copied the lpd.conf and lpd.perms file from the package, later i made
some minor modifications in lpd.perms but no difference - i still can't print.
hosts.lpd includes my machine's name, of course.

i've a job (issued with the old lpr system) waiting in my 'lp' queue but
it does not go to the printer when lpd is initialised.. the new lprm is unable
to remove that.

any idea about what can be wrong on this? (i'm afraid several things)

i really want to support LPRng, but firstly i must have it running well
here. ;)
