I had a working lpd configuration on my system and I was suggested to move
to LPRng as I intended to use apsfilter. I don't know much about printing
and I (really) have little time to read all the docs, so I hope some of
you can provide me with a simple but working config. I hve a NEC
Superscript 1260 that claims to be 100% ljet2p PCL compatible and after
installing LPRng all went down.
here is my config and errors I get instead of printing, please notice I
REMOVED all previous lpd stuff (so consider it a fresh installation).
I installed with
./configure --sysconfdir=/etc
make clean all;
make install
and then replacing the original execs with links to new LPRng
/etc/printcap
#(actual config, commented old lpd one)
# NEC Superscript 1260
lp|laser:sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P
:force_localhost
# (next line was not working with suggested "/tmp/something"
# so I modified according to old one)
:lp=/dev/lp0
:ifhp=model=ghostscript,device=ljet2p

# (all commented)
when I lpr /.../psfile.ps and then lpq:

Unspooler: pid 3912 active

Filter_status: converter process died with signal 11, 'Segmentation fault' at
