Everyone,
I'm seeing problem with postscipt jobs sent from Win98 PCs printed
through our spooler to Tek Phasers 850DP/850DX using APPsocket. My
setup is:
Win98--(Samba)-->Spooler------(APPsocket)-->Tek Phaser 850
PC LPRng-3.6.22
ifhp-3.3.19
The printer test page from the PC generates a text page, a blank
page, and postscipt error of the form:
ERROR: ioerror
OFFENDING COMMAND: flush
STACK:
There's a pause between the first and subsequent pages like the
printer is timing out.
However, postscipt jobs and text jobs print from Unix just fine.
I don't understand what's going on. I get no errors out of LPRng
or ifhp. Here's my printcap:
pr25955
:cm=Tek Phaser 850DP/APPsocket Prasad/Hendershot Office 2115 SRL
:db=1,network,database,receive
:lp=/dev/null
:sd=/usr/spool/lpd/pr25955
:ifhp=model=phaser850,dev=pr25955.srl.ford.com%9100,pagecount@,status@
:filter=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ifhp
Printing directly to the 850 using APPsocket from the PC actually works.
They must be doing something I'm not. I'm about ready to haul out my
sniffer... Any ideas?
