Download the latest version of the HP Jetdirect firmware for the cards.
Load it onto the cards.  Get a MS Windows 95 system and use the &*))(*&*()
JetDirect stuff - it appears to be the only bombproof way to do this.

DO NOT repeat NOT repeat NOT try to use the HTTP interface or you will
spend at least a week in printer hell.

Now you can just telnet to the card and set the 'allow'
option from the command line.  I think the syntax was something
like:

set allow ip.address.host

But this was while ago and I only did it once.  Sometimes they have
a configuration option, sometimes not.
