Strange, I have:

t2:
t1:
.common:
  :sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P
t1:tc=.common:lp=/dev/null
t2:tc=.common:lp=t1@localhost

If I do lpq -Pt2 I get:

h4: {49} % lpq -Pt2
Printer: t2@h4 'Test Printer 2' (dest t1@localhost)
Queue: no printable jobs in queue
Printer: t1@h4 't1 space' (printing disabled)
 Queue: 1 printable job
 Server: no server active
Status: job 'papowell@h4+33' removed at 09:32:12.678
 Filter_status: (of) done at 09:32:12.631
Rank Owner/ID Class Job Files Size Time
1 papowell@h4+707 A 707 /tmp/hi 3 11:14:24

Could you please send me your printcap file and the output
you get?

Patrick
