Hi Patrick,

As you might remember i was in contact with
you in the past concerning a support contract for our company.
I promised to return to you as soon as I had talked to
my boss about it.
I think the time is here now to sign a support contract
with AStArt Technologies. I have my boss's bless for sure!
But I'm not really sure about our needs at present time.
When we discussed this earlier you mention something about
access to our systems via ssh or similiar. Is this mandatory?
Our UNIX staff, including me, are pretty good on solving the
problems ourself. So I doesn't see any needs for on-hand-help
from your part. We just want you to fix bugs as soon as
possible we discovering them ;-) as well as priority on questions
regarding LPRng, ifhp and printer's you support.

It might help if I tell you what I have done this far
with our printing environment (background).

Our environment concists of:
- 1200 Sun Workstations
- Aprox. 80 servers for various tasks.
- 800 Windows 95/98 workstations
- 400 Windows NT/2000 workstations

Before LPRng every Sun workstation was it's own printer
server using Sun's bundles LP-system.
The Windows 9x workstations printed to a Samba server.
The Windows NT workstations printed to a NT server.

Today all we have left is one central printer server
running Solaris (Samba) plus the NT printer server.
The reason to keep the NT printer server, is the lack
of support for NT printer drivers in Samba.
But as soon as Samba supports this as well,
the NT server will be kicked out!
Leaving use with one single printer server.

If I forgott to mention something particular,
please feel free to ask.

I will participate at the LISA 2000 in New Orleans,
maybe we can discuss this in more detail then?
Or do you have any suggestions including a price now?

BR /Johan

PS. I hope you are able to read my english... DS.
