Also... I've tried the filter for HP LJ4... with A4 selected....via the
Direct Network Printer setup... then when I attempt to print a ps
testpage... the filter fires up gs & sends my machine into a processing
frenzy.... binding it up with cpu & disk ...eventually if I let it.
This is why I tried to implement a 'direct' filter....
To print a ps to a ps printer...I'm thinking there is not a lot that
needs doing to the ps file....
When I print a pdf via AdobeReader on a PC... it prints immediately...
using AcrobatReader on Linux the above occurs as well.
Why is this behaving as it is?
