Im trying to print from a Debian Linux box to a HP 8550DN
Color Printer. I have lprng v. 3.6.26 and ifhp 3.3.21. My printcap
file looks like
lp|lj|ps|postscript|PostScript|HP Laserjet 4M+, Crispy1
:lp=crispy.astro.umass.edu%9100
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp
:sh:pw#80:pl#66:px#1440:mx#0
:ifhp=model=hp8550,status@
:of=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ifhp
:filter=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ifhp
:af=/var/log/lp-acct:lf=/var/log/lp-errs
When I type
lpr /etc/printcap (note an ascii file),
lpq -lll gives
Queue: no printable jobs in queue

I have typed
checkpc -f
and sent a KILLHUP signal to lpd.
But it doesnt print! Nothing comes out of the printer. Can anyone tell me
what I have done wrong.
