I'm trying to get lprng+ifhp to work with an HP4si
served by a Netware print queue (I'm running
Debian Potato on this Linux box). I have the
netware side of it sorted but can't get ifhp to
convert Postscript to PCL. If I try printing a
Postscript file, ifhp sends a PJL job containing
Postscript. The printer shows the message
"W2 INVALID PERS" and throws out a blank
page in protest.
I can print text fine, duplex and all, though it sends
the jobs in letter page size and I need A4.
I haven't touched the ifhp.conf file that was installed
as default. This is my printcap file:
----------------------------
rp|it_hp4si|Real Printer
:lp=/dev/null
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/ithp4si
:lf=/var/spool/lpd/ithp4si/log
:af=/var/spool/lpd/ithp4si/acct
:if=/usr/lib/filters/nwprint
:sh:
hp|hp4si|HP LaserJet HP4si
:lp=hp
:bq=rp
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/hp4si
:lf=/var/spool/lpd/hp4si/log
:af=/var/spool/lpd/hp4si/acct
:ifhp=model=hp4si,status@,paper=a4
:if=/usr/lib/filters/ifhp
:sh:
----------------------------------
/usr/lib/filters/nwprint is a little shell script that runs
nprint and that's working fine.
Any comments gratefully recieved.
