Hi Folks,
I'm trying to get LPRng to pipe it's accounting data to a perl script.
Here's the printcap entry:
test
:server
:if=/usr/local/lib/filters/ifhp -Tdev=hp8100%9100 -Zduplex
:of=/usr/local/lib/filters/ofhp
:af=|/usr/local/lib/filters/accounting_filter
:as="START"
:ae="END"
:lp=lp@hp8100
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/test
:db=print+2
:lf=/var/log/lpd
If I change the "af" line to an actual file, jobs print correctly and the
data I'm looking for ends up in the named file. But as above, I don't
even get any output from the printer. The debugging info from lpd is
quite cryptic, but the problem seems to be:
"test: Do_accounting: write failed - Bad file descriptor at
2001-01-15-17:27:23.417 ## identifier=<NULL> number=0 process=11198"
The filter itself seems to be working properly, i.e. I can pipe it output
on the command line and it does what I want. Permissions on the script
are 0755.
I'm running LPRng 3.6.10 and ifhp 3.3.3. Any ideas??? From what I read
in the HOWTO, this should work...
