I tried to use
lpr -#3 page.ps
for a load balancing queue. I have a main queue "CF900" and
a server queue named "CF900printer6". But an error occurs.
In the main queue a control file is generated which contains
three times the same datafile:
Aroot@farbsrv+492
CA
D2001-01-16-10:10:05.148
Hfarbsrv.localnet
J/root/page.ps
Lroot
Proot
QCF900
N/root/page.ps
fdfA492farbsrv.localnet
N/root/page.ps
fdfA492farbsrv.localnet
N/root/page.ps
fdfA492farbsrv.localnet
UdfA492farbsrv.localnet
But the server queue "CF900printer6" receives two datafiles:
195419 Jan 16 10:10 dfA492farbsrv.localnet
390838 Jan 16 10:15 dfA492farbsrv.localnet.x
one has the size of the file I printed. The second has the
size of the remaining two copies. The controlfile remains the
same, but the original is not removed from the main-queue "CF900",
the job is set to the status "error" and the
statusfile "status.CF900" contains the following lines:

I want to tell lprng not to transfer three times the same datafile
with the same name to the server queue "CF900printer6", and
to transfer only one datafile to the networkprinter lp=CF900@printer6
because the printer can create the copies itself (10GB Harddisk).
I'm using lprng-3.6.26 and the following printcap:
CF900:cm=Load Balancing Queue CF900:
:minfree=20000:
:chooser=/var/spool/lpd/support/chooser:
