Hi,
I have a Debian 2.2r0 Linux server which acts as a windows NT server (I
use Samba V2.0.7). I have install 'LPRng' (Ver. 3.6.12-8) to manage my
remote printer. I have (I think) well declare my remote printer in the
'/etc/printcap' printer configuration file, like that :
printer:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/mon.imp:\
:mx#0:\
:sh:\
:sf:\
:rm=my-printer.my-domain.fr:\
:rp=my-printer.my-domain.fr:
My '/etc/lpd.conf' LPRng configuration file is also (I think) well declare.
Like that :
ab@
af=my.acct.file
sh
I share my printer in the '/etc/samba/smb.conf' samba configuration file
like that :
[MyHP]
comment = My remote printer
path = /var/spool/lpd/mon.imp
guest ok = No
printable = Yes
writeable = No
browseable = No
I can connect and print from my Win98 client on the Samba remote printer
share. All works well except that the banner page is always print. I don't
want it. Althought I mention it in the '/etc/printcap' and '/etc/lpd.conf'
configuration files not to print the banner page, it always print it.
QUESTIONS :
As there are the same parameters in the '/etc/printcap' and '/etc/lpd.conf'
configuration files, which one is over the
other ?
What must I do to not print the banner page ?
I don't need it !!!
Best regards.
Vincent.
